I will admit, I was skeptical about this shampoo. It definitely clarifies, even though it says moisturizing. It did completely get rid of the buildup from the braiding gel that I used when putting up my protective style. It truly got rid of that buildup in one wash, though I used twice just to be sure. Following up with the conditioner that came with this set amounted to soft, moisturized hair.
