Worth more than every penny

I ended up installing this as a bridge pickup on my mandolin. With the brass cover the timbre was a little too gentle and rounded for my taste, and with a wooden one a little too tinny. My solution was to install a bar of iron on top of the strings to alter the magnetic field of the pickup and shift the tone to a little lower frequency range. The sound is now nice, thick and compressed while serving just the kind of clacky pick transient I like to have.
