fava crop twice a year
Planted in the fall, as I did in a spent bed of green peas, the fava beans are already up and will be ready in spring; then I plant fava in another bed in summer and there's a second crop to eat in fall. Nitrogen-fixing happens in both beds. The small young beans can be shelled and boiled briefly and they don't need the white coats peeled. Yah!
