Michael Storrings Cherry Blossoms 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

Beautiful!

Purchased as a gift for a jigsaw puzzle pro. I’m in DC so thought she’d appreciate the cherry blossom puzzle. Hopefully it will keep her occupied for a while!

Piece feel wasn't what I've grown to expect from Galison

Having just finished this puzzle, the only reason it's not lower is because Michael Storings has a gift for capturing nostalgia in his artwork even for places I've never been. What happened to the smooth, clean feeling pieces I had in my first Michael Storings Galison puzzle? This felt like working a Ravensburger. My fingers felt grimy and disgusting and it made working the puzzle a labor of hate, and while there was less puzzle dust than the average Ravensburger, there was still much more than I've grown to expect from Galison. The main reason I liked Galison puzzles was that the pieces felt good to work with, so I really hope this was just a one-off problem and not a change to their manufacturing process or a sign their quality is slipping. Since I ordered more puzzles during their sale, it will remain to be seen whether I stick with them in the future or not.

One piece did need to be glued as it was completely separated from the cardboard but we love the glossiness of the puzzle. It will be challenging for sure, but that’s why we like putting them together!
