Had a great weekend, San Diego fishing. Excellent rod. I like the bright tip and how it picks up activity.. only thing I don’t like is the screw to hold down the reel. For the price, it should’ve been steel, not composite.

So far i am pretty happy with the kong spinning rod. The first one i recieved in the mail had a guide insert broken but after a quick email kastking sent another free of charge. The rod feels solid for sure a good bait soaking rod whether its for catfish on a river or livebait off a boat. The handle is unique and would work well if your hands are dirty or slippery with bait. For not being the big brand name tackle it seems like kastking is a good option as far as bang for your buck. I do plan on modifying the handle to fit my needs better making it a slightly smaller diameter which is personal preference. All in all im happy with my purchase.

At 1st glance

So far the reel and rod combo seem very nice. as i was spooling it up everything seemed very smooth and precise. The weather has not cooperated yet this year but I feel like this combo will work as described and hopefully exceeds expectations. Love the value as well. I have more expensive combos that i use for Paylaking and these seem like they will perform just as well.
