Blinded by the light

I've been opening them up one by one and they are beautiful. They were wrapped very prettily and the colors are very shiny. I haven't gotten to use them yet, but I am very excited about some of them. I think plum is my favorite, very deep and vibrant. All in all, a gorgeous gift.

I actually bought these as a Christmas present for a friend,

Knew they would be opened and in use long before the date. Reports are she loves the colours, the shine and the fact that they paint so well, looking forward to seeing the results, so chuffed all round, thank you.

Expected more color variation

First of all, the paints are really nice. But as someone who didn't want to get spoilered by the colors I was pretty disappointed by the color variations. If you sort them by color you get a lot of really similar sometimes almost identical colors in pink/berry tones and lilac/violet tones. A bit of blue, one red and almost no real deep green. So for an advent calendar it was pretty disappointing, I wish I had more variations in 24 paints. I don't need 4-5 tones of basically the same color in water paint. The shimmer paints overall are great - some of the color shifting tones do not really shift - and some are really incredible.
