Fit a specific need

I was doing as close as possible to tie Mercer's Missing link dry fly. The hook worked better than I expected. I really haven't tested it on the water. I fish small streams and while I have been out a couple of times not really dry fly action. More like murky water San juan/squiggly wiggly time. Did catch a rarity a cutthroat on the lower creek.
