Joe's Mini Crayfish Jig

Not enough weight

Having watched Joe tie this fly many times I was expecting it to sink like a rock but it failed miserably. Fishing a crystal clear river I was able to watch the fly sink ever so slowly in moderate speed water. Using my T&T euro rod I would have had to cast too far upstream to get it down to pods of fish I could see. To be fair Joe puts. Far more lead on than a commercial there might be expected to use. But the bulk and material used need that kind of weight. I did have a good session fishing a small spring creek with slower flow. I think I’ll buy the material and tie my own.

Great fly! smallmouth were all over it.

My favorite fly of all time. Trout and smallies love it.
