The standard small is the perfect size to melt 3 to 4 granules of wax and not having too much wax stuck to the spoon when you pour the melted wax which is just the right amount to use with the size of the wax seal I bought. However it's not big enough to melt enough wax (4-5) for sealing over string when I'm sealing up presents but this can be easily fixed by buying a larger melting spoon. Also love how the handle of the spoon barely heats up even though it's metal.
