Screws from previous versions do not engage tightly

Have loved this company and ordered several sets of head lamps for them for our office through the years. We have had two clips break recently and ordered replacements. The new sets are sent without screws so we went to use the screws from the previous set and they won't engage and tighten so the light just hangs loosely. Not sure if manufacturing changed but frustrating to be unable to use the headlamps
