Nice earrings, disappointing packaging

Bought as a graduation gift. The earrings are lovely. I don’t mind that they came on a small piece of leather. That could be lovely. But the piece I received has sticky on the back, like someone removed a label or a price tag. I can’t give this as a gift this way. I’ll find a different box but this is disappointing. The earrings seem nice.
