This books helps explain white privilege to kids in a way they can easily understand. It gives parents the tools to begin learning and teaching our kids how to use our privilege to create change and work toward a more equitable world.

I liked this book. It was simple and honest and used even the page colors to reinforce the message about how color matters for how we make our way in the world. It ended with a positive challenge to white children: how to use their unasked-for but automatic “head start” to make things better for those who don’t have one. There was no talking down to the white children and no talking down about children of color. It was honest and straightforward and I loved its message.
