They are very thin. Also you have problems keeping the valance sheet in position when placing the mattress on top of the bed. It has no corners on the top part near the headboard so it cannot grip. It has corners at the bottom of the valance sheet but it doesn't hold very well and moves about. I don't recommend this product as it's not very well made to keep its position on the bed base.
