2nd Cat Flap

This is the second insert I have purchased from you. I thought it would last a bit longer (4 years) but it does get heavy use at my home with 8 cats flying in/out of it. I love that it is clear all across and doesn't block any light. I was a bit surprised to see you are using a smaller flap than in the previous one, but the cats do fit thru..just! Also, unless I am misunderstanding the mechanism, I miss being able to lock the flap so they cannot come back into the house, this was helpful when having work done in my home. Overall, a good product that fit great.

Don’t underestimate your dumb cat

We have three cats with varying levels of intelligence. Our brilliant cat, who can open doors, mastered the cat flap in minutes. We trained our normal cat with treats, and she was in and out of the cat flap in a few days. Then there is our “God Love” cat. He is an absolutely stunning platinum blonde with long hair and light eyes, but sweet boy is dumb as a rock. Two weeks of training, and he now leaps through the flap. If you have a “God Love” cat who isn’t food motivated, try placing a long piece of cardboard across the window to prop open the flap and cover the clear glass. Our boy kept trying to go through the plexiglass…. We found that visually narrowing the exit point helped him learn where to go. We did have an ugly piece of cardboard in our window for two weeks, but his newly gained independence and confidence was worth it.
