Organic Ume Plum Paste, 3.88 oz

A shocking amount of flavor

I think I may have been expecting some kind of sticky sweet plum sauce, but instead it's more of a highly concentrated tart salty plum quite similar to the dried salted plum candies I grew up eating. It's such a surprise. I'm not sure what to pair this with. I few drops on a spoon right out of the bottle is quite addictive.

Too runny

I was surprised by how tiny the bottle was. Also it is very runny, not the thick paste I was used to from other brands.

Great addition to a sauce

I just made seared scallops with umeboshi sauce from Kimiko Barber's Japanese Light cookbook and couldn't be happier. It made a nice addition to the scallops without overpowering their flavor. Delish.
