I have owned a lot of rods at this price point and the megabass lavante is the most nicely appointed, lightest, and classiest looking 200 dollar rod I have ever put in my hands. The whipsnake has a crisp action that loads up easily on the cast, is extremely sensitive dragging a drop shot. I tried it for fishing a jig and minnow and did not get hit but I could feel every gob of algae that accumulated on my bait. Havent hooked anything other than weeds on it this spring, but it seems like it’s got backbone for days while being really light and sensitive, in a subtle colorway that has always looked, and will continue to look; very, very cool.
