5/6wt - The Patriot Reel w/ Line

I think the reel is the least important part of the fly fishing setup, the roof and line have a far bigger impact on your success, a smooth drag is really the only requirement to have success landing fish. So then if comes down to looks and that is a big deal for a lot of people, me included. The Patriot reel from Bozeman is a great looking, machined aluminum reel with a silky smooth retrieve and a strong smooth disc drag. It looks as or better than my $400 reels and at $155 it is far and away the best bang for the buck I’ve found in a fly reel. I’m a lefty and I’m going to order two more a 5 & 7 with left hand retrieve to use when I take friends out who don’t have their own equipment.
