2007 Dodge Ram TIPM
I sent my TIPM in for repair after experiencing a single issue: the driver’s side high beam had no voltage. After explaining this via email, I was later told that an “internal short” was causing my issue and that my TIPM was not repairable. I was then offered the option to purchase a refurbished TIPM, which I did. After waiting several days for shipping, I installed the refurbished TIPM immediately—only to find that the exact same issue remained. I followed up and spoke with Marino, who was very helpful and provided the ECM pinout so I could troubleshoot further. Using that information, I was able to determine that the TIPM is actually functional and that the issue exists elsewhere in the vehicle. While I appreciate Marino’s assistance, this experience makes me question the original diagnosis of an unrepairable “internal short” in my original TIPM. Given that the refurbished unit behaves the same and testing shows the TIPM is not the problem, the situation feels questionable. Bait and Switch?
