Great for someone new to working in Hospice. Not so great for a seasoned hospice nurse.

A Worthwhile Read
As a new hospice volunteer, I have received a lot of training but found your history more revealing than what I was given. I also appreciated your stories about your parents which reinforced the need to separate your roles as a daughter from a hospice nurse. I value your list of recommended readings and your willingness to share your personal takeaway from your life's work. My only recommendation is to add just one word to the first sentence in the last paragraph on page 210. To avoid confusion and for consistency's sake, I suggest that you add the wor"Medical" to the, "Durable Power of Attorney." Thanks for listening.

The Final Act of Living
I found this book to be excellent. It is a very comprehensive discussion of all aspects of the end of life process. It would make an excellent training text for the various professionals in the field, and for the various volunteers such as myself. It would also be and excellent reference for the family, friends and caretakers of a patient and for all of us who will likely be facing these issues ourselves eventually. - A real "Must Read!"
