This is a wonderful, simple statement. The trowel, the basic tool of every archaeologist, is accurately depicted in miniature. It is the perfect 'votive offering' for 'ritual purposes' (if you've ever read descriptions of artifacts recovered, you get it). Those that know the tool will get it, those that don't will ask, and give you an opportunity to tell tales of adventure (or at least about sweat, mud, thorn bushes and bugs). Great piece.
