Japanese Maple Disappointment

I was very disappointed with the way the Japanese maple looked the day it was delivered to my house - many of the leaves were dried, shriveled and overall the tree looked very unhealthy - not at all like it did when I drove to bay Gardens to personally select the tree. I absolutely mentioned my disappointment to the Manager who accompanied the delivery, and he said it probably needed to be watered and may be in shock from the traveling (I live one hour away from Bay Garden and apparently was the last stop). But the worst thing happened the next day - most of the red leaves had yellow spotting, and over the next few days the tree was covered with the spots and it looked pretty sick. I called the store, sent several close-up photos, and spoke to someone who never called me back. I followed up and was told the Manager had spoken to the Owner who said to give it some time and it will clear up and snap back - he apparently has seen this before. One month later, it has not bounced back - the yellowing is still prevalent and many more leaves have dried up. Last week I went back to Bay Gardens and the same two other Maple trees that were there when I bought mine are still there, and they too had developed the yellow spotting. It was an expensive tree, and I am disappointed. All other trees I've purchased from Bay Gardens have done very well - unfortunately, that was definitely not the case with the Bloodgood.
