My favorite bike

The special is a beautiful frame, good for commutes or just tooling around, currently at a 46x18/16 for where I live. Bike is quite responsive yet very stable. More than adequate out of the box, and a nice frame to grow with. I have ridden my special a couple hundred miles yet and while I am fully aware of the sort of bike I purchased I have come to the conclusion that I would like to see a fork with rack provisions so I could run to the grocer on my favorite bike. Other options include seat tube racks or stem spacer racks for any real heft. perhaps wabi will sell me a thunder fork?

Love the bike. It's lightweight, fast, and nimble. I live in a densely populated area with a lot of stop and go, and some up and down hills too. It's perfect for the kind of riding too. The lugged frame in sapphire blue gets many compliments too. I got mostly stock components, so I do have one quibble. I had to replace the freewheel about a month after getting it. Fortunately my LBS was able to replace it while I waited--on a Saturday afternoon, no less. I had to take what they had available, though. We'll see how long this one lasts. I may upgrade to a White Industries freewheel if it happens again. Otherwise, the bike is great, as was the experience of ordering, receiving, and assembling. I would definitely do it again!
