Excellent quality, nice carver

Most of my knives are of the traditional “sloyd” profile, but I thought it would be nice to have something a bit stouter, closer to bushcraft but not as clumsy and still intended for carving. The Skog didn’t disappoint. The blade is sturdy, but not so thick that it can’t do a fine cut. The point is nicely shaped for carving but not fragile. Not a sloyd replacement, but a good addition.

I've been a huge fan of Hellè for a while now. There is just something about these knives… they are simple and practical, nothing flashing about these knives, just pure quality and craftsmanship. You can feel that these knives are handmade by people who care about what they do. I recently bought 3 Skog’s one for myself and 2 for 2 very close and dear friends. I chose this knife because it's practical and well designed for purpose. Perfect knife for carving while sitting around the fire. It's also a good size for EDC. My knives always come with a handwritten thank you, which is a very nice change and also appreciated. Ragweed Forge is hands down my new favorite source for my knives! They do an incredible job with the packaging and the customer service is the best. The Helle Skog like all of the Helle knives I have bought did not disappoint.
