KastKing Sharky Baitfeeder III Spinning Reel

I'm using these to try and caught gar, I love the bait clicker. The clicker is loud and the reel is strong. This reel is perfect for anyone who fishes with more than one rod, the bait liner works flawlessly.

Outstanding reel. A little history I have 5 KastKing bait casters love them as well, the Blaze bait caster is awesome! These bait runners are top of the line smooth reeling, casting is exceptional with food distance with larger lures for strippers or live running bait for flatheads Sharky gonna bring it in to the net!

Inexpensive, but lacking key components to make it a goto reel.

The reel handles well, the gearing is smooth, the drag is plenty powerful. It has 3 critical problems that prevent me from buying another. The stem is weak and has quite a bit of flex. This means that the reel flexes under load with anything over about 10 or 12lbs of drag and the drag starts pulsing. The handle is held on by a pin-through design that allows the handle to move quite a lot. The reel needs a screw-in handle. Lastly, the top of the drag needs a gasket to discourage water intrusion. The bottom of the spool is shielded but spray keeps making it's way down in the drag from the top. I wouldn't care to pay more for this reel with the added improvements. Currently, it isn't the best suited for Kings, Blue Cats, and Gar. I did decide to keep it for a kayak catfish tournament in Sandusky Bay next month. It should handle 25lb Channel Cat really well.
