Great poncho

The Mac in a Sac poncho is the best one I have had. I am particularly pleased with the large neck opening, which then fastens, the neck openings on other ones are far too small, so I would knock my glasses off getting it on. I like the red fasteners, so they are easy to find and look good too. Of course it is light weight and packs small, as well as having a front pocket for a map, or snacks!

I bought this item because rain was very likely in the country I was visiting (Japan), and we did indeed have a day that featured several very heavy bursts of rain, each lasting about 15 minutes or so. The poncho kept me dry - and would have done the same for my small rucksack. However, as I was in a large city and often needing to use my bag, it was quite a bother to get to it, so in the end it did get quite wet. It was also a faff to get on and off quickly. Not exactly the poncho‘s fault, I just think it‘s much better suited to a long country hike, where the bag can shelter from the rain too. It does roll up easily into its bag, so is light and quick to pack and carry. I‘m sure I‘ll make better use of it on a different kind of holiday.
