16x5.5 Alcoa Dura-Bright EVO 6 Wheel Package for Sprinter 3500 DRW with Hub & Lug Covers

This wheel set replaced original steel wheels and wheel simulators/covers on my Sprinter 3500 RV. I had frequent valve stem failures with the OEM setup; I believe rubber valve stems on all 6 wheels, interference with wheel simulators/covers on 4 wheels, and braided steel extenders coupled to rubber valve stems on the 2 inner rear wheels, all contributed to my problems. This Alcoa wheel set uses bolted-in metal valve stems on all 6 wheels, and only uses covers on hub areas. Instead of separate extenders, each inner rear wheel has a long bolted-in valve stem that is further supported by a rubber grommet mounted in the corresponding outer rear wheel. The Alcoa wheel set is now installed on my van, and looks great. On the advice of Buy Truck Wheels, I had my shop add ceramic beads in each tire, rather than adding weights to the wheels for balancing. In particular, we used 5 oz of Checkered Flag beads in each LT215/85R16 tire, and this virtually eliminated steering wheel shimmy that had always been present at about 60 mph. Valve stem reliability to be determined, but I did top each one with a plastic cap to avoid corrosion risk associated with metal caps on metal stems. Finally, I separately purchased a lug nut cover extraction tool, and learned that I needed the adjustable type, as the 1.5 inch tool (for big rigs, apparently) does not provide adequate grip.
