Really nice... just two wish list features, though...

I really like this indoor/outdoor thermometer+hygrometer combo. Everything seems to work fine. I do, however, suggest two "wish list" items for Taylor engineers. First, given that it is time-consuming to setup the time/date for the unit and given that changing batteries instantly erases the existing time/date values, perhaps add a small capacitor to the time/date circuit which would retain time/date values for a minute or so while one changes batteries. Many of my other similar devices have this feature. Second, given that it's not the easiest screen to read, especially in dim light, perhaps add a backlight feature (could replace the useless alarm clock feature) so that if you hit the top bar, it momentarily turns on the backlight which would make reading the unit MUCH easier. Setup was easy. I left the outside transmitter next to the inside receiver for several days to see how close they corresponded. Temperature was plus or minus 1 degree but the outside transmitter humidity reading is consistently 5 to 6 percent higher than the inside receiver.
