I’ve been using the G2 Apex Reel Seat for spinning several years - on rods I’ve built for clients and on my own spinning rods. There are several things I love about this seat: - The comfort with the palm swell. - The light weight and sensitivity due to the openings that expose the blank (or insert if you use them - I have many times). - The versatility to get creative with the blank where it is exposed through the reel seat. The pictures here are from a rod that I built for a young girl in Texas who loves cowgirl apparel, horses, etc. The cowgirl boot with floral bouquet are in the lower opening where the reel sits. The flowers are in each of the upper openings. That made the rod very special for her. I used the size 16 since she has a small hand. This is only one example of the creativity I’ve been able to utilize with this seat. I recommend it highly.
