Great Tabi
These are great tabi - easy to get on and very comfortable. The bottom is soft and has a good grip on wood floor or matts. For sizing I measured exact foot length (heel to big toe) and added 1 CM - perfect fit.

Budo Tabi
The fit is snug without being too tight, and the leather sole gives you a good feel for any surface. In my case, that’s Iaido on parquet flooring or on judo tatami. The Velcro fastening can rub a bit, but with a bit of care you can sort that out yourself. Not every calf fits into the upper part of the tabi – but I think that’s to be expected!

Budo Tabi with Leather Sole – A Practical Solution for Kenjutsu Practice
Before these tabi, I was wrapping my feet in cohesive bandages or sports tape before every session just to make it through practice without popped blisters or damaged soles. It was not a long-term solution. The fit is snug without being restrictive, and the leather sole provides enough protection that foot pain is no longer something I think about during training. Movement feels natural with no slipping or stiffness, which matters when footwork is central to what you are doing on the dojo floor. One thing to be aware of is that the velcro join at the back can chafe, but this has not been enough to take away from how useful the tabi are overall. If foot discomfort has become a routine part of your training, these are worth trying.
