Deck joist tie

I ordered the deck joist tie for rough lumber. I specifically was planning on using it on rough sawn cedar. Just for FYI I expected it to be a set off of around 1.75" it is actually a full 2", so wasn't able to use most of them. The big gap looked horrible, but they are a good product and look nice. I actually ended up using the standard ornamental deck tie, which has a 1.5" stand off. The gap was less noticeable and looked much better.
