I've got a "thing" for good dinnerware. It has to look good with food on it, hold up well, fit in the dishwasher (one set I had didn't fit FOUR different dishwashers) and have the right mix of pieces. I almost bought the complete set of dinner, lunch, cereal bowl and mug, then realized I don't need the mugs and don't need more cereal bowls! So I could buy 2 sets of dinner and luncheon plates plus the serving bowl for less money than anywhere else and have exactly what I want. I had looked at thrift stores, but couldn't find enough plates that matched. But more importantly, I found that many other popular brands hadn't held up well. They were chipped or scratched. This Mikasa style looked brand new. I bought two of the dinner plates, just because I liked them. I got home and realized that another set of my dishes, which still looked almost new, yet were 10 years ago (I just wanted a change) were the same product! (Hmm, while writing this, I see that both Pfaltzgraff and Mikasa have the same pattern! That explains a LOT! My other favorite dishes, which also held up well, were Pfaltzgraff.) Anyway, I love all the pieces and they were a much better price than anywhere else.

Great size, great quality. The look and feel of these plates and the rest of the set is amazing. Everything matches and goes together perfectly.
