Volume V: D-Day and Beyond/The War in France—The Things Our Fathers Saw [2019]

Great book to read and really explores the real life of men who fought there. Since I'm from NY it has special meaning. My Dad was at Pearl Harbor in the Navy on ship when Pearl was bombed at the very beginning of the war. But this book and the others get into personal experiences. I would have loved to be in one of those history classes!

My son-in-laws father fought on the beaches of Normandy. I know he will love it!! I had fast delivery and the book is in perfect condition. I will probably be ordering more of this set in the future.

Must read books, amazing first hand accounts

As soon as I saw this series of books advertised on Instagram I knew they were very important! My father was a tail gunner among other duties during WWII. His stories were colorful but he managed to shield much of the horror from us as children. He focused his stories on the travels to Africa, Italy, and of course flying over Normandy on D-Day. After coming home on the Queen Mary, he led a very full life, even had a career at the Boeing Co. until he retired. I appreciate what you've done here, Matthew. I will pass your books down to my grandchildren along with the photo albums my father made as a perfect chronicle. Thank you for extensive interviewing and writing these stories.
