It only charges when plugged in. It would be better if it kept a charge and you could charge your watch without power when needed

The device didn’t work; nor with a power bank, nor connected to the computer
You requiere a full charger to the wall in order to provide the required energy.
So it is the same to have your regular charger. This is not “on the way” device.
