Pretty good bow.

It's a much more attractive bow in person. It really does sparkle. I use it primarily to teach my students and they do like the way it looks. Hasn't been too much of a distraction fortunately. it's a bit on the heavy side. I weighed mine at 63.1g. It definitely hugs the strings at this weight, and you'll have no problem drawing an even and consistent tone from tip to frog. Expect to do a lot of the heavy lifting (literally and figuratively) when using techniques that require more nuance and subtlety. The tone is surprisingly good for a bow at this price point. Definitely a bright sound, but it does lack the depth, color variety and "oomph" that more expensive bows would have. My only real complaint is that the red coloring on the bow DOES come off and you do have to wipe it down a few times with a cloth to get rid of the the excess "paint" if you will. This is also an issue in the chamber where the eyelet and screw can be found. A LOT of red coloring that I still need to wipe off. In the process of wiping it down along the stick you can start to feel the bumps and unevenness. While not hindering the sound quality too much (it does in fact draw a good sound despite this quality) this may be the reason why the stick feels clumsy to control at times. This does make the bow feel a little cheap, but again it does play well for a bow under $200. Tl;dr - if you want an indestructible bow that draws a good, bright sound, this is the bow for you. Just expect to work a little hard to do fancier moves. Also wipe it down to get rid of the excess red coloring.
