Supreme Hill Ebony Violin Tailpiece

Easier Play, Crisper Tone, No Wolf Tone Now

My vintage violin came with a 22g ebony tailpiece that had deformed over its 40-year lifespan. I tried a Wittner composite, which is lighter, but it sounded a bit thin to me. With the lightweight Hill tailpiece of 9g and a standard Hill fine tuner for the E, I think the whole rig is 12g. I immediately noticed a big improvement in responsiveness, tone is crisper, and now there's no wolf tone C on the 4th string.
