Supreme Berber Violin Chinrest

Dear Sir, I am extremely satisfied. I am a beginner violinist in Japan, having started lessons just this past April. The Strad-style chinrest (Ebony) that came with my violin produced a good sound, but the positioning didn't suit me, and I struggled to find one that did. I tried a center-mounted Flesch-style chinrest; while it was excellent for allowing me to freely adjust the violin's position, but I found that the freedom made it difficult to consistently find the exact right spot each time. I had been watching videos from "Price Violin Academy" on YouTube for guidance. The instructor—who has a beard—recommended the Berber-style chinrest and frequently mentioned FiddleShop, so that information stuck with me. I searched both domestically and internationally to try a Berber-style chinrest but had trouble finding one. So when I checked FiddlerShop, I found it. I purchased the Supreme Berber Violin Chinrest (Rosewood) to see if it would suit me. I discovered that it held the violin consisitently in the position I desired. Additionally, being lighter than the Strad-style chinrest, it caused no fatigue during use. The resonance is also excellent, and I am thoroughly pleased with it. Furthermore, I became curious about how the sound quality might differ with Ebony, so I went ahead and purchased the Supreme Berber Violin Chinrest (Ebony). I found this one to be significantly lighter and much easier to handle than the original Ebony Strad-style chinrest. I am currently satisfied with the Rosewood model and continue to use it, but I look forward to comparing the sound quality with the Ebony version soon.
