works but a little disappointed
I ordered 20 ' double track for 4 doors. The 20’ track comes in 3 pieces you have to splice together. To make the 2 20’ tracks. You get 6 shorter tracks you slice together with hardware Homacer supplies to make the 2 20’ tracks. The Good: technical support was great both before and after sales. I asked several questions before ordering and they were good to respond. The doors are up and installed and the 4 doors work well, they roll smoothly. The Bad: I only got hardware to hang 2 doors. Called and their support team and they sent me the additional hangers for the other 2 doors about a week later. The instructions say use the tracks to mark the holes. My tracks were quite heavy and impossible for a single person to hold and mark. I created a template and discovered the holes were 16 inches apart except where you had to connect (splice) two rails together. In this case the holes were less than 16 and I marked this distance on my template. I then marked all the holes on my header using my template and drilled the holes for the first two pieces of my inside 20’ track... The first track piece went up without a hitch. When I spliced the second track piece to the first, the predrilled holes for the second track piece didn't align. When I did a detailed comparison of the 6 tracks pieces I received, I discovered that the lengths were not exactly the same. I then assembled my 2 twenty foot tracks on the floor using 3 track pieces spliced together for each of the 20' tracks, I discovered the 2 20’ tracks were not exactly the same length and the holes of each 20' track were not aligned... the 6 individual track pieces had a variance in length of anywhere from 1/16 to 1/8 inch. When I spliced the shorter ones together the difference in the total length of the 2 20' tracks totaled little more than 1/2 in. enough to make my marked hold and nail punched predrill holes off. So, word of warning, if you are doing more than a single track you'll need a helper and you'll want to splice the rails together and use the entire length of the rail to mark your holes. The instructions say use the tracks to mark your holes. That is important since the track lengths vary and when you slice pieces together the holes are not standard 16 inch spacing. I installed double tracks over 20’ and hung 4 doors on the tracks. I had to cut some of the bolts because they were too long and hit the inside track sliding door hardware. I followed the instructions on attaching the door hardware rollers to the door. My first bolt was placed at 1 5/8 inches from the top of the door.. The doors are hung and roll nicely but there is not enough space at the top of the door to install the rubber washers to keep the door from jumping the track. Probably 1 ½ or 1 3/8 would have been the better measure from the top hole of the roller door bracket. I’m a bit concerned that the U shaped hanger bracket will sag over time and not maintain it’s position. Time will tell. I would think a 45 degree right triangle could be welded to the 90 degree hanger pieces to make it more stable. Maybe it will maintain it’s shape, but I’m betting it will droop and cause rolling issues.
