Rerigging of Hobie Trimaran
The Hobie Adventure Island trimaran is my favorite sailboat of my 70 year sailing career that’s involved over 50 boats. However, Hobie rigged much of the boat with UV-sensitive bungie cord that means it must be rerigged periodically to replace solar-deteriorated line. My recent rejig was done with Sgt. Knots’ Marine Grade Dacron Polyester Shock Cord. I was impressed with the obvious quality of this cord but only time will tell how resistant to UV damage it actually is. Stay tuned while I do some smooth sailing with my rejigged trimaran!

Annoying.
Bought 1 item and then bombarded with 25 emails in 2 weeks. I unsubscribed and likely will not buy from you again.

My Go-To source for high quality shock cordage
I use elastic shock (“bungee”) cord for many purposes, and it’s readily available locally. BUT … when my equipment and/or my safety are at stake*, I want the best cord I can find. Then I want ultimate strength, uv protection, a solid feel, consistent quality, and task-specific color choices. Sgt Knots delivers on all counts at very good prices and quick delivery. * I kayak and jet ski, sometimes alone, in 30-40 mph winds and the 4-6-foot waves they generate. Without a tether, when I fall off, my toy quickly blows away unless I’m tethered to it. A rope is too easily tangled and could yank awfully hard on me, but quality shock cords don’t tangle as easily and absorb any shock. Windsurfers I’m rescuing with a separate shock cord set up for that purpose also appreciate the shock absorption. And when I’m done and want to tie up to an anchor or to a dock, I’m not going to trust my $20,000 ski to a no-name shock cord.
