Pretty but doesn't work as intended. Compactor pushes trash down and then it just comes back up

I love a compacter but after nine brike i didnt want to dish out over $1000 dollars for a new one. So happy to find this. It definitely helps compact the trash! I noticed a lot less garbage bags going out! My only issue is that sometimes the bag rips as you try to pull it out so you need to use either the custum bags, compacter bags or heavy duty.
