Duck Feather inserts have a terrible scent

I bought 5 duck feather inserts for the amazing cushion covers. Unfortunately I won't be using these and will be throwing these out. I went and bought other inserts from Ikea. I really cannot understand how these can be sold. These inserts are IN the cushion covers and they still smells.
