Very Well Done! David Rohl’s a Fantastic Presenter

Very much enjoyed these lectures. David Rohl is a fantastic lecturer and you can tell he knows a very great deal about Egyptology and archaeology in general. His views are controversial yet plausible, with some still waiting to be verified by future excavations. He agrees with Kenneth Kitchen on the site of the Red Sea crossing, which is at odds with the conclusions drawn by Patterns of Evidence. But he comes across as fair-minded and open to correction if he is wrong. He certainly is gifted at taking complex subject material and making it accessible to lay people such as myself. Overall very well done.

Facts versus conventional "wisdom"

I bought this DVD after watching the video "Patterns of Evidence", both of which have been informative, riveting, even exciting. What I love most is how they illustrate the issue that saturates challenges the human mindset and spirit: do you find facts and let them lead you where they will, and then formulate a theory? Or do you merely jump on the bandwagon and assume the conventional conclusions or theories, and then as you find facts (or artifacts) you try to squeeze them into your assumed template, and if they don't fit, you ignore them or discard them? In addition, looking for the historical truth behind the stories of the Bible is inspiring to me spiritually. I couldn't recommend more highly these lectures and the video "Patterns of Evidence."
