Works well for surfing. I put it on a timex watch and wear it over a 5/4/3 suit. It even fits with 3mm gloves. Much more secure than the standard velcro strap I had. It had to go under the suit so it wouldn't fall off. Which was a PIA for checking time (especially with gloves) and also a water entry point. I don't worry about the band falling off anymore.
