Pretty user friendly IF you are already familiar with the brand. It was my first cinema camera and first time using one and I found when using the auto iso it was usually too high and therefore made the files grainy when the screen did not reflect the effect the high iso was making the file. Otherwise, the ND filter is a lifesaver for outside shooting and the menu is pretty straightforward as well as you can push and hold iso, shutter, and white balance buttons to set them to auto for ease of use. Sony needs to catch up with their express cards and make them larger or you will only get 10 min of recording time. These cards are also extremely expensive from an amateur creator standpoint. I recommend getting the ninja atomos in combination with a 1 or 2 TB compatible drive or you won't be able to record long at all. The battery is decent for the camera's size. The camera is light and would be much more light weight and usable if you didn't need to add an extra external hard drive and screen with the hdmi connection.
