I read the reviews and got the impression from them that this ran very small, but I don't find that to be the case. I have a 30" waist, 40" hips and went with a size large, but wish I'd ordered a medium. The large doesn't do much cinching, just a bit of smoothing. I like it overall but find it difficult to wear under many dresses because the closure in the front creates a very visible line running down my torso that shows through all but the thickest fabrics. It's not terrible but I'm not sure how useful it will be for me.
