Absolutely gorgeous fabric, not beginner friendly
I've used this satin coutil to make two corsets at this point because I love it so much. It's insanely strong, and both times I've lined it with herringbone coutil from this same site and the finished corsets have felt indestructible. Last time I ordered two yards, and Farthingales sent me three because of a flaw in one of the yards, which was very solid of them. It has the most gorgeous shine and I couldn't recommend it highly enough if you're a skilled corset maker. I gave this fabric four stars instead of five because, gorgeous as it is, it's a bit tricky to work with. 1 - The fabric stains when it gets wet. It's very subtle, but it's noticeable enough that I work hard to keep my finished corsets dry. 2 - It scars. If you have to unpick a seam you already sewed, the old line of stitching will never completely fade. I don't recommend running this fabric through the machine with the shiny side facing the feed dogs, either. This is not a beginner friendly fabric.
