Striking amount of detail in McMorrow's take on a classic building
So many bad things have happened to the Bewleys chain of late. So we are fortunate, indeed, that a great artist has capture its most important outlet at its most glorious and pristine. Here, McMorrow departs slightly for the more impressionist approach he took capturing Davy Byrnes (just around the corner). The idea, it seems, is to do justice to the detail of the mosaic and orientalist décor of this classic shopfront, perhaps Dublin's most decorative. A great image, arriving on time and as ordered. Full marks.
