HDMI to USB Video Capture Device

I've got it working with the on board Chromebook camera. But, it will not recognize any media player like VLC or even Windows Media. Would you guys have any suggestion on a media player compatible with this HDMI card or if you might have some suggestions how to get the VLC player to recognize the card? Other than that it's working great for what I bought it for!

I tested the HDMI to USB capture device with my iPhone 11 and fed it into my Dell Desk top. I also downloaded vMIX and it worked great! I do want to upgrade my audio so am thinking of getting either a USB mic or the Behringer Podcasting setup that you offer.👍👍👍
