PROVerXL 4030 CNC Router with Carveco Maker Subscription

Mixed feelings about it

I've had my PROVerXL 4030 CNC Router for about a week now. Assembling it was easy enough, the instructions were pretty clear and everything was well labeled. There were no directions about how to connect the bit to the spindle, however. The user manual stopped being useful when it got to installing Candle and operating the machine. A little better description of the software and what its functionality is would have been useful. There were parts which did not have any description, such as a bundle of red and white wires that were not listed in the parts manual, and the Z probe was not assembled to the connector. As for actually using it, I'm perplexed. I downloaded the Carveco software, and started the tutorials, and it's really confusing to work with an application that assumes you have some kind of experience with vectors and CAD-like design. I'm struggling to understand the relationship between Carveco, Candle, and the actual machine. I've been looking on youtube for anything that might describe a first project from design through carving, and there's so much out there I can't work out what's actually good or not. I know this is not a plug-and-play setup, and I'm fine with learning the software, but I wish there was a list of Sainsmart-approved resources to review.

Works amazing!!! Still learning all the things I can do with it. Expandable when the time comes which was key.

New 4030XL

Purchased a 4030XL to begin my journey into CNC. The delivery experience was surprisingly quick and I felt well informed at all stages. I assembled the unit yesterday and though there were a few typo errors in the instructions it went together well and feels sturdy and well made. I do wish there was an available 65mm adapter for my Makita trim router but I will use the 300W spindle for now.
