Innappropriate and way overpriced

I'll preface this by saying I've been very pleased with SainSmart products to date. The Cubiko is a solid entry-level CNC, and I've got my next machine from them on pre-order. That said, this item was a disappointment. Going in, I expected a grab bag might hold something I didn't need or already owned. I did expect it would suit an adult maker. What arrived was a craft kit labeled ages 5+, the kind that runs about $10 at a craft store and less online. I paid close to $30 with shipping. Whatever the intent behind the assortment, the result felt like clearance rather than a curated surprise. My suggestion: a grab bag marketed to makers needs to hinge on relevance, not just on retail value. Something modest and genuinely useful, a set of collets or a spare bit assortment, would land far better than a higher-value item aimed at a different hobby entirely. I'm still a fan of the company and I appreciate that they make making so affordably accessible. I won't take another gamble on a grab bag, though. I'll find a five year old to give this to. Maybe it'll rock their world.

neat idea- what I got was definitely not worth $20.

Took a whim/shot to see what I would get as a mystery box. I got a kit of connector pieces for a cardboard arts/crafts kit for kids. Not anything to do with CNC machines - I'm not even sure who I could give this to as it's not really a kit you can "Build with" it's just connector pieces, like it's an accessory to some other kit. If I could return it, I would.

Not awesome for me

I ordered a surprise box. I got a dust shoe that doesn’t fit my cnc machine. And I already have a dust shoe for my 4030 prover xl v2. Maybe giving items that are for a specific machine someone may not have isn’t the best choice of surprises. I just tossed the box in the trash and chalked it up to a poor decision on my part….wont do that again.
