King of the River Sample Set

Overall I'm dissapointed with these chips. They were okay, but I had high hopes based on what was shown online. The actual product is shown as glossy online but they come out with a matte finish. Some of the chips came out looking faded even though they were brand new (the blue chip photo included in this review). You could see the where the plastic flashing was cut off on all the chips (it was noticeable on every chip but some were worse than others). Not all the chips were centered and by a significant margin (included in pictures below).

I do love these, especially that the colors are light and fairly standard for the common denominations ($1-$100). I would give these 5 stars and seriously consider a purchase, but The $0.50 and $5 denominations, orange and red, could possibly be confused in low light. This wouldn't happen in a serious game, but in a social game, where everyone is chatting and drinking, it's a possibility. Everything else about these is excellent! I should mention that I got several samples from another vendor for China clays and found serious quality control issues. I resisted this advice at first, but I'm now a believer: Get samples before you make a big purchase!
